The Prowl
from CA$150.00

There was a lot of love and a lot of hours behind this photo. For months I had been trying to photograph a raccoon at night in a totally urban environment. After dozens of failed attampts, I came across this spot just west of Toronto. I set up my nighttime camera trap system. This involves an infrared sensor, flashes, loads of transmitters and receivers, and a DSLR mounted upside down one inch above the flowing water. After a few failed attempts, I returned one cold morning to discover this photo. It’s one of my favourites and I hope you like it too.

The Tower
from CA$150.00

There is no doubt that this is Toronto. For ages I had been trying to capture an image with the skyline as the setting to a daytime scene with a great subject. There is no doubt that this fox is the perfect subject for a Toronto wildlife photo.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

The Watch
from CA$150.00

Peering through the bush, I saw two brilliant eyes. I slowly walked down the path, keeping the coyote to my right. It matched my pace and started to yip. When I realized it was keeping the same distance, and yipping only when I slowed down, I got excited. Really excited. I was being escorted.

This is an incredible defence strategy coyotes have to protect their litters. They will yip, but not approach, drawing a line between the threat and the pups. They “escort” the threat to a safe distance from the den.

Eventually, the coyote just stood still - I’m guessing this was the edge of its den site. I snapped a few photos. The coyote gave a few more yips for good measure, and took off. This was one of my all time favourite encounters.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

The City
from CA$150.00

I love Toronto, and I wanted a photo that showed it off. I was so happy with how this complex photo turned out. I used a remotely triggered camera trap set up to get it. This involves lots of flashes, sensors, transmitters and receivers. The final images shows a beautiful rabbit making it’s way through the city at night with our skyline in the background.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

The Gaze
from CA$150.00

I found this owl snoozing in a tree on a cold winter day. I took a few photos of the slumbering bird and began to move on. A few steps later and my foot crushed a branch. I looked back at the owl who shot me an angry gaze for disturbing the peace. I managed to get a few more photos in before it resumed its sleep.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

The Bridge
from CA$150.00

This photo happened at the final moment. The sun was going down, and the seals were minutes away from taking off for the night. The sky was perfect and I wanted my photo. I put my camera on a mono pod, and lowered it down from Vancouver’s iconic Seawall. I dangled upside down and used my phone to trigger the camera. The camera - inches away from the surface of the saltwater - fired away and I could barely see what I was shooting. In a clear moment, it all came together: the seal passed right in front of my lens and I snapped a photo.

This photo looks fantastic big. It’s not for Instagram.

It’s for the wall.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

Bellwoods
from CA$150.00

If you’ve visited Toronto’s Trinity Bellwood Park, you might be familiar with its white squirrels. Due to a genetic trait, every generation of squirrels in Bellwoods seems to produce a few grey squirrels who are completely white. They’re local celebrities and a beloved icon of the city. I like this photo because it shows one of these local legends high up in a tree, living a normal life.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

Mother
from CA$150.00

This was an emotional moment. After days of trying to land a fox photo in Montreal, I came across this mom and kit frolicking in the last light of the day. They didn’t seem to mind my presence. In fact, they got so comfortable with me that at one point they fell asleep. Mom was likely tired from months of feeding, and the little one decided to get cozy on top of her. Watching this beautiful moment through the lens left me almost in tears and deeply grateful for the interaction.

25 cm x 20 cm (10”x8”) - $150
50 cm x 70 cm (19 ¾“ x 27 ½“) - $500

from CA$150.00

This remarkable image came together late one night beneath a busy Toronto road. When the lights of our cities go out, incredible scenes play out. We don’t always see it, but this photo is a beautiful reminder of how wondrous nature can be when we leave it alone.
